CAMBRIDGE - Shirley Lucille Opher departed this life on Friday Aug. 22, 2014 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. Her memory shall be cherished by her five children; Larry Opher of Seattle, Wash., Yolanda Palmore, Franklin Opher Jr., Charles Opher and Turhan Opher all of Cambridge; three sisters; Mary Fosque Edwards and Patsy Camper both of Cambridge and Faith Holliday of Federalsburg; three brothers, Dorsey Holliday Sr. of Wilmington, Del., Michael Holliday of Federalsburg and Robert Smith of Hurlock; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six god-children; Brenda Mij (Kangaj) of Cambridge, Dabari Smith of Trappe, Diana Chase of Cambridge, Bridget Wilson of Salisbury, Marvin Beasley of Cambridge and Suprel Simmons of Hebron; five aunts, Annie Wilson of Trappe, Eloise Wright of Cambridge, Emma K. Chandler (William), Virginia and Mary F. Christian (Virginia); an uncle, Earnest James II (Jackie) of Virginia; a brother in-law, Lewis Makell; a sister in-law, Laura Holliday; a special church mom, Mary Frances Thompson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friend, Annette Gorum and Mary Ann Willey "Tootles" and a host of other friends; a special companion, Chipper Opher (her dog). Services will be held at noon on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at Refuge Temple Church of God, 800 Robbins St. Cambridge with a viewing Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home PA, 510 Washington St., Cambridge and one hour prior to service.
