The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate cases in which people were charged with attempted murder.

On Sunday, July 12, at about 9:45 p.m., deputies and Emergency Services responders were called to a parking lot at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium for a reported stabbing.

There, deputies found a male victim who was on the ground and bleeding. The victim had been stabbed in the face, deputies said, and he was flown by State Police helicopter to the Shock-Trauma Center at University Hospital in Baltimore.

During their investigation, deputies learned that this victim was embroiled in an argument about social issues on Facebook and had agreed to meet in person at the stadium parking lot to hash out the situation.

According to witnesses, an attacker was seen brandishing a knife, approached the man upon arriving in the parking lot, and stabbed the victim in the face.

According to the witnesses, the attacker then kicked the victim after he fell to the ground, while stating: “You thought I was weak.” Deputies said the attacker left the scene.

Ryan Edward Koski, 45, of Hurlock, was arrested the the following day and charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless endangerment, deputies said.

Koski was held without bond, deputies said.

Earlier that same Sunday night in Willards, deputies responded to an address on Purnell Crossing Road where a compression box had been used to fire arrows into a home.

Upon arrival, a deputy met with subjects who said a man had left his vehicle, stood in the middle of the road, and fired arrows at the home.

Deputies said they found an arrow lodged in the siding of the home, just inches from a large window. An additional arrow was located on the front porch.

After a warrant was issued, deputies said they arrested Thomas Bernard Kirk, 54, of Willards -- as well as a passenger in the vehicle, Tara Leigh Webster, 43, of Ocean Pines -- and charged each with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, malicious destruction of property and reckless endangerment.

Deputies said no one was injured. Both Kirk and Webster were held without bond, deputies said.
