Seven Lower Shore women named among Top 100

Posted

Seven Lower Shore women have been named to the The Daily Record business newspaper’s 2020 listing of Maryland’s Top 100 Women.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of annual recognition, which was founded in 1996 to recognize outstanding achievements by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.

The local winners:

  • Dr. Heidi Anderson, President, University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
  • Lynne Bratten of Bratten Properties in Salisbury.
  • Beverly Dearing, Head of School at The Salisbury School.
  • Dr. Sarah Guy, Associate Director of BEACON at Salisbury University.
  • Jacqueline Jennings, Corporate Communications Director for Piedmont Airlines in Salisbury.
  • Meredith Mears, Chief Development Officer of Gillis Gilkerson Construction and Development in Salisbury.
  • Delegate Sheree Sample-Hughes of Salisbury, Speaker Pro Tem of the Maryland House of Delegates.

A panel of business professionals and previous Maryland’s Top 100 Women honorees from throughout the state selected this year’s honorees.

"This year's Maryland's Top 100 Women honorees join more than 1,500 of their peers in receiving this distinct honor. These women lead companies, create change, break barriers, chart new territory and make a difference at home, at work and in their communities," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, Publisher of The Daily Record.

"Additionally, Maryland's Top 100 Women mentor others and inspire future generations. Top 100 Women help others see something special in themselves, something they might not have known was there,” she said.

The Maryland's Top 100 Women 25th Anniversary Gala and Awards Celebration will be held April 23 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
