Seussical the Musical, a singing and dancing performance with a Dr. Seuss theme, will be presented at Wicomico High School on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
Students from Wicomico, Bennett and Parkside high schools, who are presenting it, will also have a show for elementary school children earlier on Friday.
Directed by Ken Johnson, who is active in Community Players of Salisbury, the musical focuses on Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat telling the story of Horton, the elephant who discovers a speck of dust that becomes and Who, named JoJo.
JoJo, portrayed by a local elementary school student, is sent to military school “for thinking too many thinks.”
Meantime, Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers, but also guard a Who left in its nest.
Although Horton faces ridicule, an intrepid character he comes to know never loses confidence in him.
Tickets cost $8 and children 5 and younger will be admitted free.
