DELMAR - Seldon George Dix Jr. died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury. Born in Cambridge, he was a son of the late Rev.Seldon Dix Sr. and Ellis Adams Dix. He graduated from Mary Potter Academy Boarding School in Oxford, N.C., and received a degree in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was employed with American Broadcasting Co. for ten years. He retired in 1990 from Time Warner Inc. as Executive Art Director of the Time Magazine Promotion Art Department. During his retirement, he worked as a freelance photographer and graphic artist, and was on the Board of Directors of the Art Institute and Gallery in Salisbury. He was a member of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church, serving with the United Methodist Men. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annabelle Church Dix; a daughter, Dr. Angela Dix Seals; a son, Dr. David Dix; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the youngest of four siblings, all of whom predeceased him: William Grant Dix, Gloria Dix Chapman and Richard Dix. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, at Wesley Temple United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Interment followed at the Church Family Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
