WINGATE - Samuel S. Parks Jr., 72, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.

He was born in Wingate on July 13, 1934, and was a son of the late Samuel S. Parks Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Robinson Parks.

Mr. Parks attended school in Wingate. He worked for Cambridge Wire Cloth for 20 years and later worked with JC Tolley Seafood.

He enjoyed hunting on his property.

He is survived by three nieces, Janice Wilson of Cambridge, Sharon Mears of Seaford and Mary Lorraine Frederikson of Connecticut; two nephews, Michael Bloodsworth and Roger Bloodsworth, both of Cambridge; two brothers-in-law, Johnny North and Roger Bloodsworth.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret North, Emma Robbins and Frances Bloodsworth.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today, at the Parks family cemetery in Wingate with the Rev. David J. Wooten Jr. officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made Lakes - Straits Volunteer Fire Company, 2103 Farm Creek Road, Wingate, MD 21675.

Thomas Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
