EASTON - Ruth Naomi Kovatch, formerly of Easton, died on June 23, 2009, at the Caroline County Nursing Home. She was 86. Born Aug. 18, 1922, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Charles Kneavel and Caroline Noha Kneavel. She moved from Baltimore to Trappe where she resided for many years. She then moved to Hyded Park in Easton where she lived for over twenty years. Later she lived in Preston and then moved to Hurlock. For many years, Mrs. Kovatch worked at Doug Hanks Real Estate in Easton. She was a member of the Easton VFC Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by one son, James "Jim" Kovatch and his wife Laura Kovatch of Hurlock; one brother, Dr. Thomas C. Kneavel and sister-in-law, Dr. Ann Kneavel of Hockessin, Del.; one sister, Naomi R. Kuchta of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Kovatach on March 31, 1985. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Secretary. Rev. Stephen Lonek will be the celebrant. Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market is handling the arrangements.
