SALISBURY - Ruth G. Dickerson, formerly of Sharptown and later of Parsonsburg, died Friday, Apr. 14, 2017 in Salisbury. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Wilfred Skirrow and Elsie Irene Cadmon Mellors Skirrow. A longtime active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Sharptown, she volunteered with numerous ministries in addition to serving as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Cambridge Coin Club and worked for many years at Cope's Candy Company and at Fooks Concrete. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Thomas Dickerson. She is survived by her children, Allen Neil Dickerson, of Quantico, Glenn Robert Dickerson, of Seaford and Holly Jean Trice, of Parsonsburg; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Thursday, Apr. 20, 2017, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Sharptown. Interment was in Firemen's Cemetery in Sharptown. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
