Ruth E. Adkins

SALISBURY - Ruth Elizabeth Adkins died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Anchorage Nursing Home. Born in Delmar, she was the daughter of the late David Benjamin and Grace Helen Mitchell. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Adkins, who died in 2001; and two sisters, Mabel Meilhammer and Joyce Meilhammer. She is survived by her children, Ralph Adkins of Willards, Jerry Adkins and Janice Joudrey of Salisbury; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman Mitchell of Snow Hill; sisters, Lina Foskey of Delmar, Mary Lee Meilhammer of Fruitland; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
