Russell Leon "Rusty" Kinnamon Jr.

CAMBRIDGE - Russell Leon "Rusty" Kinnamon Jr., 53, of Ross Neck, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 26, 2007.

He was born in Cambridge on Dec. 14, 1953, and was a son of the late Russell Leon and Sylvia Moore Kinnamon Sr.

Rusty attended schools in Cambridge, graduating from Cambridge High School in 1971. He had 24 years of service in the Maryland Army National Guard, 29th Division, retiring with the rank of major in 1995.

On July 6, 1993, he was married to the former Eydie Richardson.

Rusty was MCEA area 5 Governor, and in 2005 received his charter captain"s license. He worked at the University of Maryland at Horn Point for 30 years.

Rusty was a member of the First Baptist Church, as well as the 29th Division Association, Dorchester Post 91 American Legion and also was member of the American Miniature Horse Association and MCEA.

Rusty enjoyed fishing, boating and raising miniature horses. He had been in failing health since March.

Survivors include his wife, Eydie R. Kinnamon of Ross Neck; two daughters, Lisa R. Webster and her husband, Kevin Webster of Linkwood, and Ashley B. Kinnamon of Cambridge; one son, Adam B. Kinnamon of Cambridge; one stepdaughter, Chelsea E. Dayton of Cambridge; one granddaughter, Lexi Webster of Linkwood; and one sister, Cheri K. Barnes and her husband, John Barnes of Cambridge.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church on Glenburn Avenue in Cambridge, with the Rev. Jerry Wade officiating. The family will receive friends 90 minutes before the service. Burial will be in the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery at Beulah.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Hurley, Greg Burton, Eric Doty, Richie Long, Eddie Wozny and Billy Lowe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
