'Bob' Hurt, Sr., 51 MARION STATION - Mr. Robert J. 'Bob' Hurt, Sr. formerly of Frederick, Md. died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Rhonda Hurt. They were married for 30 years. Born October 28, 1961 in Frederick, he was the son of Mildred Hurt Welty of Jefferson, Md. and the late Benjamin Franklin Hurt. Bob retired from the City of Frederick after 15 years as a Sign and Paint Mechanic. Following his retirement, Bob and his family relocated to Marion Station. He was a daily fixture every morning at Gordon's Confectionery in Crisfield where he enjoyed catching up on the local morning news. He loved fishing and crabbing and that was a major influence in their decision to move to the Eastern Shore nearly 10 years ago. Bob was an accomplished mechanic and enjoyed fixing cars, lawn mowers and, according to his son, "he could fix just about anything." He loved Redskins, classic Westerns, his dogs, and above all else, he loved his country. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Bobby Hurt; and significant other, Stephanie Schaller, of Jefferson; his daughter, Jessica Hurt and fiancé, Ross Evans, of Crisfield; one granddaughter, Destiny Hurt of Jefferson; his sister, Barbara Ann Liller and her husband, Rick; two brothers, Charles William Hurt and Louis Franklin Hurt; and many nieces and nephews. He also will be remembered by his special friend, Steve Evans, of Crisfield. Bob was predeceased by his father and two brothers, David Edward Hurt and Benjamin Lee Hurt. The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Graveside services began at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Jefferson. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.staufferfuneralhome.com.
