Robert B. Vickers

CAMBRIDGE - Robert B. Vickers passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Hudson on Mar. 1, 1932 and was a son of the late John S. and Goldie Bennett Vickers.
Mr. Vickers graduated from Cambridge High School class of 1951. On Jun. 28, 1952, he married the former Mary E. Batchelor. Mr. Vickers worked over 30 years with A&P and retired in 1979 and worked part time with the Eastern Shore State Hospital with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing the piano and going out to different restaurants. Mr. Vickers was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW, Cambridge Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #91.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Vickers of Cambridge; a daughter, Donna Trego and husband Michael of Cambridge; and a granddaughter, Michelle Trego of Pocomoke. Besides his parents, Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by two half-brothers, Julian R. Bennett and John T. Vickers; and a half-sister, Dorothy Kux.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Sept. 18, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiated. Interment followed at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
