Rev. Dr. David Lee Morgan

Morgan, 72 WILMINGTON, N.C. - Rev. Dr. David Lee Morgan, 72, of Wilmington, N.C. went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Hospital. He was born on October 19, 1942 in Crisfield, Md., a son of the late Barney Bayne and Evelyn Sally Morgan. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Reginald Morgan and William Morgan. Rev. Dr. Morgan served in the US Navy for three years and was stationed on the USS Haynsworth. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He went on to earn a Master's and Doctorate from the University of Maryland, as well as a Master's from Church of God Theological Seminary. Rev. Dr. Morgan devoted much of his life to the Ministry in the Church of God. He served as missionary in Kenya, East Africa, Mexico and Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada. Afterward, he served as Pastor at churches in Delaware and North Carolina. Rev. Dr. Morgan also spent many years assisting others through working in the mental health field and as a psychotherapist in private practice. Rev. Dr. Morgan leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Hattie Hunt Morgan; one daughter, Maria Morgan Baldi and her husband Sam Baldi; one son, David Morgan, Jr.; three grandchildren, Lea Mucciacciaro, Leecie Mucciacciaro, and Isabella Baldi; two brothers, John Royce Morgan and Franklin Morgan; one sister, Anne Windsor; and a host of extended family and friends throughout the world. The visitation was held at Saddletree Church of God in Lumberton, N.C. on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral was held at Wrightsville Church of God in Wilmington, N.C. on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. Burial followed. Bishop Marvin Gwinn and Bishop Kenneth Locklear officiated the services. The arrangements were handled by Andrews Mortuary in Wilmington, N.C. The family is grateful for your love, support, encouragement, prayers, visits, flowers, cards, and other acts of kindness and love extended to us during our time of bereavement.
