Rebecca M. Jenkins, 93

EASTON - Rebecca Medford Jenkins, 93, died on Friday, May 2, 2008.

Born Dec. 11, 1914 on a farm in Hurlock, she was the daughter of the late Coursey and Lovey Medford.

She had three brothers and two sisters, all of whom are deceased. Upon graduation from Salisbury State Teacher's College, she taught in a one room elementary schoolhouse near Eldorado.

She married J. O'Neill Jenkins in 1936 and lived for several years in Cambridge, Baltimore, and then Frederick.

While in Frederick, she was a member of the Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Green Walled Garden Club, the Cotillion Club and Catoctin Club. She and her husband relocated to Gray Fox farm in Centreville, in 1978. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Easton where she was a member of the Talbot Country Club and a life long bridge player. Mr. Jenkins died Aug. 23, 2003.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by two daughters, Peggy Prevost and her husband, Gene of Trappe, and Valerie Jenkins of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; two granddaughters, Michele Corr and her husband, John of Walkersville, and Jennifer Murphy and her husband, Tom of Mt. Airy; and five great-grandchildren, Michael and Christian Corr, and Thomas, Bridget and Brian Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 17at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, MD, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Easton.
