Raye Ellen Moore, 62 MILFORD - It is with great sadness that the family of Raye Ellen Moore, of Milford, announces her passing on Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford after a long battle with cancer. She was 62. Mrs. Moore was born in Salisbury, Md., the daughter of the late Raymond Clarence and Thelma (Pilchard) Dayton. She was a homemaker and took great pride in taking care of her family and home. Mrs. Moore was an avid animal lover. In her later years, her mission was to care for stray animals. She enjoyed painting and stenciling. Her pride and joy, were her grandchildren, for she loved them very much. She will forever be remembered and missed by all that knew her for her generosity, loving and caring spirit. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas W. Moore; three daughters, Tonya and David Rothermel and their children Kyle, Morgan, Taylor and Kane, of Milford, Kristin Moore of Lewes, Deena and Scott Day and their children Aaron, Keegan, Aashton, Kaaden, Lauren - Ashlee, Kaitlin and Aadisyn, all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; five brothers, James Thomas Stant and his wife Betty of Snow Hill, Md., Jim Dayton and his wife Marion of Milton, Donald Dayton and his wife Annie of Salisbury, Bobby Dayton and his wife Shirley and Fred Dayton, all of Cambridge, Md.; one sister, Joyce McAllister; her close and cherished friends, Eileen Woodland, Dwayne Mousley and Alfred Mousley Jr.; her little Yorkshire Terrier, Hope; and her three grandpuppies, Ava, Aldin and Nadia. Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Friday in the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford. There will be a reception to follow at Smith & Co., restaurant in Milford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary of Sussex County, Attention: Jane Blue, P.O. Box 430, Nassau, DE 19969; or the Debbie Sipple Fund For Animals, Felton Bank, Attention: Dee Andrews, 698-A North Dupont Hwy., Milford, DE 19963.
