SALISBURY - Ray Bennett Robinson died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late John Edgar Robinson and Gertie Virginia Harrington Robinson.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served after World War II, and attended Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a machinist for Dresser Wayne for many years, retiring in 1986. He previously worked at Disney World in the early 1970s.
He is survived by his three daughters, Carolyn C. Knechtel of Salisbury, Debbie Cox of Annapolis and Cindy J. Horner of Salisbury; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Robinson of Mardela Springs and Buster Robinson of Clearwater, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen Robinson in 2007; two daughters, Ann R. Guy and Joyce Ray Robinson; a grandson; two sisters, Minnie Davis and Rachel Parsons; and a brother, Walter Robinson.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Cross Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Salisbury, with Pastor Stephen P. Hause officiating. There will be a visitation on Friday evening at Holloway Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., and also on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Melson's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Delmar.
