CENTREVILLE - Randy Lee Booze passed away on Feb. 12, 2017, at John Hopkins Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on Aug. 3, 1953 in Cambridge, the son of Mildred Grace Reshaw Booze and the late Fred Francis Booze, he grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School, class of 1971. Randy graduated from the University of Baltimore with a BS in Business Administration in 1975 and would then begin his career with Easton Memorial Hospital (which is now known as University of MD Shore Health System) in the budget and finance office. He went on to graduate from Wilmington University in 1993 with a master's in Business Administration and Accounting. After working many years in healthcare finance, with most of it being with Shore Health for over 25 years, Randy began working at Bay Health Medical Center in Delaware until retiring in 2015 due to illness. Outside of work, he loved spending time on the water, traveling, vacationing at the beach and above all Randy enjoyed spending time with his family. Randy and his wife, Margie, were happily married for 35 years. He was a history buff, loved watching movies and Saturday morning cartoons, listening to many genres of music and had a quick wit and an awesome sense of humor. Randy was a member of Centreville United Methodist Church, MGMA and HFMA (both financial healthcare groups). In addition to his mother, Mildred Booze, Randy is survived by his wife, Margie Price Booze; three children, Michael Booze, Andrew Booze (Heather), Jennifer Ewing (Trevor); granddaughter, Lauren Booze; and one grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his two loving long hair dachshunds, Bailey and Toby. A visitation was held on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Centreville. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the Centreville United Methodist Church in Centreville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Centreville United Methodist Church, 608 Church Hill Road, Centreville, MD 21617, or Compass Regional Hospice, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617. Randy would also like everyone to spend every day as if it were your last, enjoy your friends and family and take time to do something fun with them this week.
