HURLOCK - Ralph T. Wroten, 83, of Hurlock, died at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del., on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2005.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1923, in Williamsburg, Dorchester County, the son of the late Al G. Wroten and Sadie Elaine Wright Wroten.

He worked for many years in road construction as a heavy equipment operator, working on the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Turnpikes and many other major roads. He later owned and operated his own heavy equipment working for himself and other contractors, before retiring in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Norma L. Paul Wroten of Hurlock; a sister, Anna Stokes of Salisbury, and several nieces and nephews.

Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services for him will be held at 1 p.m. today at Framptom Funeral Home, P.A. in Federalsburg with the Rev. Denzil Cheek officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m.

The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to the Human Society of Dorchester County, 4930 Bucktown Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.
