SALISBURY - Rakim "Roc" Russell, 17, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. A son of Shanell Rena Johnson and Alfred Gunnell Russell, he would have been a senior this fall at Wicomico High School in Salisbury. He joined First Baptist Church in 2013 and often visited his mother's church, New Dimensions. Survivors include four sisters, Kamyra Walker, Alyana and Almani Russell and Genesys Russell; and two brothers, RaeQwon Mitchell and Zander Baker both of Salisbury. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Patsy Kenney and Joseph Taylor all of Salisbury; paternal grandparents, Thelma Russell and Alfred Russell; great-grandmother, Edna Dillard; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service was held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at New Dimensions Ministries in Salisbury. Interment was at Springhill Memory Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Stewart Funeral Home by Holloway and Downey in Salisbury.
