A 29-year-old Pittsville man was charged with assault after an incident on Nov. 13, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandt J. Roberts was charged in a residence in the 34000 block of Railroad Avenue at 9:11 p.m., after a deputy responded to a report of a fight there, deputies said.

A deputy said he met with two people who said a man was inside the residence  yelling and out of control. During investigation, the deputy learned an argument began between the man and others and it became physical.

The argument escalated when a person in the residence was assaulted, the deputy said. He said he observed signs of injury that corroborated the account.

Roberts was arrested, then released on personal recognizance.

TV ‘Most Wanted’ broadcast nets fugitive

A Salisbury woman who was on the Wicomico Sheriff’s Office’s Most Wanted list surrendered on Nov. 12, deputies said.

Renee Michelle Lane,  24, surrendered at the sheriff’s office following a profile on WBOC-TV’s Delmarva Life program, deputies said.

She was being sought on a circuit court bench warrant issued in April after she failed to appear for a violation of probation hearing in a  child abuse case, deputies said.

She was charged with failure to appear and was in the Wicomico County Detention Center pending an appearance before a circuit court judge, deputies said.

Parsonsburg man facing burglary charges

A 21-year-old Parsonsburg man was charged with second-degree burglary and theft under $1,000 on Nov. 13, according to Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Kevin Elliott Owens was arrested on Bear Swamp Road in Parsonsburg after a deputy investigated a burglary and theft at a residence in the 33000 block of Bear Swamp Road, deputies said.

They said someone forced entry by breaking a window and removed power tools and a camera. The investigating deputy discovered the items for sale in a local pawn shop in Salisbury and identified the individual who took them there, deputies said.

The investigating deputy applied for and obtained a warrant for the arrest of Owens. After he was unable to be located, he was profiled on WMDT-TV’s Fugitive Friday on Oct. 31, deputies said. Afterward, he surrendered.

He was in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $7,500 bond, deputies said.

Bivalve fire causes $20k in damages

Nobody was injured in a business fire in Bivalve Nov. 15, according to the state fire marshal’s office.

A poultry house converted into a thrift shop and auto repair shop, at 20959 Oak Grove Church Road, caught fire at 3:36 a.m., the fire marshal said.

Owned by Dan and Patricia Fisher, the business suffered a loss of $10,000 for the structure and $10,000 for contents.

Firefighters from Westside, Hebron, Mardela, Sharptown, Salisbury, Fruitland and Delmar responded. It took 30 firefighters 30 minutes to control the fire, the fire marshal said.

The fire started in the interior of the former poultry house and the cause is under investigation, the fire marshal said.

Pedestrian struck in front of PRMC

A man walking along Carroll Street near Peninsula Regional Medical Center was injured after being struck by a truck Saturday.

Salisbury Police did not have details.

The man was walking at the intersection of Carroll Street and Waverly Drive, near the parking garage, when the accident occurred, around 2:30 p.m.

His name was not released and information about his injuries weren’t available.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
