The magic of the winter holiday season is associated with the warmth of friendship, community, nostalgia and anticipation during the darkest, coldest season of the year, making the winter holiday season a perfect time for festive historic house tours.

Hence, the 2019 Newtown Holiday Tour of Homes was held earlier this month in one of Salisbury’s oldest and grandest neighborhoods. Organized by the Newtown Neighborhood Association, visitors enjoyed an opportunity to visit a few of the area’s prominent historic houses, welcomed by docents who will discuss various aspects of the house itself, the families who built and occupied the homes and highlights of daily life in Salisbury’s past.
