Two merry events in October, one highlighting beer, the other wine, will be on consecutive weekends at Pemberton Park this month.

The Good Beer Festival, on Oct. 11 and 12 from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m., will be followed by the Autumn Wine Festival, Oct. 18 and 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Each year, we strive to expand our offerings and create a pleasant experience for attendees. There is something for everyone at our festivals -- delicious beverages and food, live music, broadcasts of the weekend’s big games, unique craft vendors, games. The list goes on. The festivals are great opportunities to spend a fall day outdoors surrounded by friends,” said Niki Wheatley, assistant director of marketing and public relations for the county.

Both festivals will have live music and Sports Zone, a tent where games will be broadcast on big-screen TVs. Hamburgers will be for sale, as well as French fries, wings, brat and pulled pork.

Vendors will sell cigars, chocolates, jewelry, scarves and purses.

For the beer festival, advance tickets, on sale until Oct. 3 at 6 p.m., cost $25 for one day, $40 for two days and $5 for those who don’t want to taste. Regular ticket prices are $35 for one day, $60 for two days and $10 for non-tasters. See www.GoodBeerFestival.org.

For the wine festival, advance tickets, on sale until Oct. 10 at 6 p.m., cost  $25 for one day, $40  for two days and $5 for those who don’t want to taste. Regular tickets cost $35 for one day, $60 for two days and $10 for those who aren’t tasting. See www.AutumnWineFestival.org.

Each ticket will allow beer lovers unlimited samples of more than 125 American craft beers.

The Local Beer Garden will be open, sponsored by Xtreme Brewing and offering tastes from Eastern Shore breweries.

On Sunday, there will be instructional sessions and a Home Brew Competition.

The wine festival is being presented in partnership with the Maryland Wineries Association. Visitors can try a variety of Maryland wines. Wheatley said more than 20 wineries are expected to participate, offering unlimited samplings, with no tasting tickets needed.

“Those interested in a more intimate experience can upgrade their tickets to receive the VIP treatment on Saturday,” Wheatley said.

They will be seated in a tent and have reserved parking, private restroom and television lounge area where they can sample hors d’oeuvres and wines. Each VIPs will receive T-shirt and gift bag for $55, sold in advance.
