CAMBRIDGE - Pearl Willey Griffith, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at her home.

She was born in Cambridge on April 27, 1924, and was a daughter of the late Howard and Carrie Robbins Willey.

She attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1942. After graduating from high school she worked at the Dupont Co. in Delaware.

On Sept. 27, 1946, she was married to Donald T. Griffith. Mr. Griffith passed away on Aug. 23, 1984.

Mrs. Griffith had worked for George Todd Insurance and Whitey North Insurance and later worked for Larry Dail Insurance in Cambridge.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and had done volunteer work at DGH.

She enjoyed baking muffins and cakes for her friends, as well as gardening in her flower bed. She had been in failing health since December.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Heidi Newcomb Cahoon and her husband, Steve Cahoon of Easton; a son-in-law, Michael L. Kitzinger of Beach Haven; three sisters, Nettie Fleischman, Wilsie Spedden and Florence Anstine, all of Cambridge and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lee Kitzinger; two sisters, Evelyn Dean and Myrtle Hurley and three brothers, Gordy Willey, Calvin Willey, Raymond Willey.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Thomas Funeral Home in Cambridge with the Rev. Douglas M. Ridley officiating. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during the hour preceding the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Doris Weber, 5163 Maple Dam Road, Cambridge, MD 21613.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cahoon, Michael Kitzinger, Robin Hall, Larry Dail, Ronald Newcomb and Wayne Robinson. Honorary bearers will be Steve Anstine, Cy Pritchett, Bobby Willey, James W. Spedden, Donnie Spedden and Orville L. Willis.
