ENGLEWOOD, Fla. - Paul M. Luthy passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home in Englewood, Florida.
Born in Cambridge, Paul was a son of the late John F. and Martha S. Luthy.
Paul graduated from Cambridge High School, class of 1952, and attended The University of Maryland College in Baltimore. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany. In keeping with his family's tradition, he spent many years grain farming until his retirement in 1984.
Paul's favorite pastimes included bowling, fishing, goose hunting and duck hunting. He loved playing cards and was an avid reader, spending many hours at the local library.
Paul is survived by his wife of nearly 45 years, Lois Luthy; children, Paul Alan (Kathleen) Luthy, Randall Watson (Brandon), Alison (Ralph) Cook, Carla (Jeffrey) Neugroschel; grandchildren, Christine (Paul) Syfrett, Tamara Luthy (fiancé Evan), Daniel (Erinn) Cook, Erin (Jonathan) Ruark, Jason (Emilie) Cook and Cari (Douglas) Jesse; great-grandchildren, John, Finn and Dillon Cook, Alyssa, Abbey, Anna and Amelia Ruark, Graham and Conor Jesse, and Benjamin Cook. Paul is also survived by special cousins and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are a brother, John Luthy, Jr.; and sister, Helaine Luthy.
Services were held in Doan's Chapel at Englewood United Methodist Church in Englewood, Fla. on Monday, April 16, 2018.
An informal reception to celebrate Paul's life will be held in Fellowship Hall at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 Whitehall Road, Cambridge, on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 12:30 p.m.
