SALISBURY - Retired Pastor Howard L. Gordy Jr. died on Jun. 11, 2015, in the company of his family at University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Born in Salisbury in 1932, he was the son of the late Howard L. Gordy Sr. and Hilda Murray Causey Gordy. In 1961, Pastor Gordy married Beverly Clow. His son, Howard L. Gordy III, died Jul. 3, 2012. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: The Rev. Dr. Vicki Gordy-Stith of Wilmington, and Dr. Laurie Gordy of Nashua, N.H.; and four grandchildren. For almost a half-century, Pastor Gordy itinerated with family to serve churches in Dover and Wilmington, Delaware and Easton and Salisbury on Maryland's Eastern Shore. A Memorial Service for Pastor Gordy will be held on Sat., Jun. 20, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church on North Division Street in Salisbury. Friends are invited to visit with the family two hours before the service. Arrangements are in the care of Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury.
