Orretta Sterling

SALISBURY - Orretta Thomasine Wilkins Sterling of Salisbury died Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Delmar Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Selbyville, she was the daughter of the late Harley Thomas Wilkins and Nellie Louise Taylor Wilkins.
"Miss Rita" worked as a Registered Nurse at Peninsula General Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Hebron and was an alumni of Salisbury State Teachers College, where she received a degree in nursing She is survived by her daughters, Julie Ann Mayton of Davidson, N.C., Paula Louise Sterling and Kim Whorton of Laurel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Sterling; and brothers, Harley Taylor Wilkins and A. Miles Ernest Wilkins.
A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Hebron, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
