Salisbury Police said they found the body of a 25-year-old Salisbury man floating in the City Park spillway this morning.
A passer-by called police at about 9:06 a.m. to report the discovery. Upon arrival, officers met with a witness who had observed the victim in the water near the spillway located near East Main Street and Snow Hill Road.
The body was identified as that of Rodney Elliott Stevenson of the 300 block of Ohio Avenue.
Police said their investigation revealed that Stevenson had left his home on Ohio Avenue and was reported to be walking to a location in the East Main Street and Mount Hermon Road area.
A Medical Examiner who went to the scene told police there had been an injury to Stevenson’s head, but that no foul play was suspected. The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Police are asking that anyone who might have information about the incident or who might have been in the vicinity of the park bandstand or footbridge at about 9 a.m. to contact them at 410-548-3113.
