Wicomico County school board and superintendent have named David Miles as secondary assistant principal at Wicomico High School, Dave Harris as principal of Fruitland Primary and Kaimais Love as elementary assistant principal at Pinehurst Elementary.

Following Charles H. Chipman Principal William Curtis’ retirement, Antionette Perry, who was previously slotted to serve as principal of Fruitland Primary, will instead become Chipman principal.

 Miles was dean of students at Bennett Middle School for the 2013-2014 school year. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bowie State University and a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Union University. He began his teaching career in Wicomico County Public Schools as the social studies teacher at Choices Alternative Learning Program, where he then transitioned to the role of dean of students.

Harris is a graduate of James M. Bennett High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from York College of Pennsylvania and a master’s of education in School Administration and Supervision from Salisbury University.

After one year as a teacher in Charles County Public Schools, Harris returned to Wicomico County in 2002 and was hired as a fifth grade teacher at Westside Intermediate School under then-principal (now board president) Ron Willey.

Harris serves the school community of Fruitland Intermediate as a Destination Imagination parent volunteer coach, and last month took the winning Fruitland Daydreamerz team all the way to the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tenn.

Love, appointed as an elementary assistant principal, has served as a Grade 6 Mathematics Teacher at Wicomico Middle School under Principal Kelley Morris-Springston. Love is a graduate of Bowie High School in Prince Georges County. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Salisbury University, and a master’s of education in School Leadership from Wilmington University.

While a member of the North Salisbury faculty, Love created an award-winning mentoring program for fourth- and fifth-grade students utilizing a partnership she garnered with Salisbury University students.
