Naomi Marie (Jolley) Thompson, 83

TOWNSON - Naomi Marie (Jolley) Thompson, 83, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Cromwell Genesis Nursing home in Towson after a long illness. She was born in Dorchester County, Dec. 15, 1925, the sixth child of nine siblings, to the late Rosie Etta and Charles George Jolley. She attended the public schools in Dorchester County. Naomi worked in various factories at an early age. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Cambridge before moving to Baltimore. Naomi was a lover of people; loved to sing and make people laugh. She was serious when she spoke about her relationship with God. She leaves to mourn her passing, two daughters, Anna Elisa Thompson, Karen Thompson; four sons, Phillip, Carroll and David Thompson, all of Baltimore, Edwin Thompson (Kathy) Delmar, Del.; a special granddaughter, Latoya Thompson and special grandson, Tony Thompson whom she raised as her own; three sisters, Rosie Jones, Arneda Spencer (Harvey), Annie Mae Murray (Sidney); two brothers, John Jolley, James Jolley (Lillian) all of Cambridge; a host of grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertie (Jolley) Wongus and Mary Jolley; one brother, Charles Jolley; a son, Donald Thompson and two grandsons, Dominic Thompson and Donald Thompson Jr. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at March Funeral Home in Baltimore at 1:30 p.m. A viewing will take place one hour before the service.
