A 31-year-old Millsboro man was in jail on $15,000 bail charged with theft under $1,000 after an incident April 24, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

John K. Holt was arrested in the 5000 block of Berry Road, Parsonsburg, in connection with a theft that occurred in Parsonsburg, a deputy said.

The investigation revealed that a 16-gauge nail gun was stolen from a job site, and an attempt was sell it at a pawn shop. The owner of the nail gun positively identified it, and Holt was subsequently arrested.

Man charged with first-degree assault

A 25-year-old Salisbury man was in jail on $15,000 bail charged with first-degree assault and related charges after a domestic assault April 22, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Kevin Moore was also charged with second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, a deputy said.

He was arrested in the 1900 block of Pine Way at 9:07 a.m. after a reported domestic-related assault, a deputy said.

The victim said she was assaulted by her boyfriend, who left. She said they were arguing about living arrangements when she was struck in the nose. The deputy said he saw obvious signs of injury.

The deputy arrested Moore on an adjacent street.

Man held on drug distribution charges

A 24-year-old Salisbury man was in jail on $5,000 bail charged with drug possession and related charges, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Devin Lee Kemp was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to remain at the scene of an accident, a deputy said.

The arrest was made April 24 after a deputy began an investigation into a hit and run collision in the 500 block of Gunby Road in Salisbury. According to the resident, a man was at the residence and left after an argument with his girlfriend. While leaving the driveway, he struck a parked vehicle and continued without stopping.

The deputy arrested Kemp, driving on a nearby street, and said he observed fresh damage to his vehicle. He also detected an odor of marijuana and searched of the vehicle. During the search, the deputy located what he said would be identified as marijuana.

A search of the vehicle revealed that the amount and packaging of marijuana, located with additional empty plastic bags and a digital scale, was indicative of intent to distribute.

Woman held on negligent driving charges

A 28-year-old Salisbury woman was in jail on $20,000 bail, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and related charges, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.

Allison McIntire Brown was also charged with negligent driving, reckless driving,  violating license restriction and operating a vehicle without the required ignition interlock, a deputy said.

She was arrested April 28 in the 29000 block of Jackson Road at 9:03 a.m. after a deputy responded to a motor vehicle collision. Investigation by the deputy revealed a woman left a residence on Devonshire Drive shortly before the collision and drove into a yard in the 4000 block of Devonshire Drive but did not stop, the deputy said.

During the investigation, the deputy identified four additional yards that were driven through before the vehicle hit a tree and stopped, the deputy said.

The deputy said he detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage, administered a sobriety test, then arrested Brown.

The deputy said due to a previous DUI arrest, the driver was required to only operate a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device, which prevents a driver from operating a vehicle if the driver has alcohol in his or her system. The vehicle the deputy stopped was not equipped with the device.
