Mildred L. McNamara

CRISFIELD - Mildred L. McNamara went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Mar. 15, 2017, at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born on Tylerton, Smith Island on Feb. 6, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Coley and Ina Mae Smith Evans.
A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was administrative assistant for the former His Nibs Clothing Factory and H. Glenwood Evans and Son Seafood.
She was a faithful member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, was active in the UMW, served on the Administrative Board, and was secretary for many years. She also enjoyed volunteering at Tawes Nursing Home. She liked to play the organ and piano, and loved spending time with her family. She was a caretaker for them all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bert Morgan in 1987; and three brothers, Woodland Evans, Roger Evans, and George Evans.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Edward McNamara, of Crisfield; her sister, Edith Warfield and husband, Bill, of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Shannon Banks and husband, Mark and their family, of Florida; a special cousin, Helen Wilson and husband, Reggie and their family, of Crisfield; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Funeral services officiated by Pastor Bill S. Wilson were Saturday, Mar. 18, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing was one hour prior. Interment was in Crisfield Cemetery.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Immanuel U. M. Church Memorial Fund, c/o Robert Bradshaw, Jr., 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
