Mildred Elizabeth Ellis

SALISBURY -- Mildred Elizabeth Ellis, Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Covington Ward and Mildred Jarrett Ward. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church; AARP; The Happy Timers and Better Breathers. She worked as an administrative assistant for Glatfelter Pulp Wood Co., retiring after 22 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, travel and ball room dancing. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Ann Davis of Salisbury, Peggy J. Adkins of Snow Hill and Paula M. Bruce of Fruitland; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Billy Ellis, Frank A. Ellis and Bruce Karhu; a stepdaughter, Nancy Bowman; a brother, Charles Ward of Homestead, Fla.; two nephews and a niece. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by three husbands, Fred Williams, William F. Ellis and Leonard Karhu; a sister, Lucy Mae Rubeling; a half-brother, Stanley Ward; and a stepdaughter, Susie Karhu. A memorial service was held on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury. Inurnment was at Wicomico Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
