A Latino grocery store in Delaware turns its produce aisle into a music stage
SUMMARY: A family-owned Latino grocery store in Delaware is attracting online audiences and bands from far away with monthly concerts from diverse artists and genres. Jose Luis Aguilar Garcia started the concert series at Fiesta Fresh Market after he was inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. Tens of thousands tune in online to watch artists perform on a colorful and unassuming stage far away from the massive music industry hubs typically associated with artistic opportunity and exposure. Garcia says he hopes the series highlights the persistence of joy and creativity in Latino communities at a time when they’re being targeted by immigration crackdowns.

Judge allows gun and notebook as evidence at Mangione’s trial in UnitedHealthcare CEO’s killing
SUMMARY: A gun and notebook that prosecutors say link Luigi Mangione to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson can be used as evidence at his murder trial. The judge's ruling Monday partially rejects a defense argument that those items were seized illegally, before a search warrant was obtained. It's a major win for prosecutors, enabling them to show the jury a possible murder weapon and evidence they say points to motive. But the judge also ruled that other evidence found during an initial search of Mangione’s backpack must be suppressed. Mangione has pleaded not guilty to state and federal charges.

Negotiators reach a deal to end strike on North America’s busiest commuter rail system
SUMMARY: Negotiators have reached a deal to end a strike that has brought North America’s largest commuter rail system to a standstill. The deal between the Long Island Rail Road and union leaders was announced on Monday. The two sides had bargained for years before the strike began Saturday. The shutdown has forced roughly 250,000 commuters who ride the system each weekday to work from home or find alternate routes to and from the city. New York's governor says service will start back up beginning Tuesday at noon.

What to watch in Tuesday's primaries as Trump's endorsement is put to the test
SUMMARY: Is there a future in politics for Republicans who buck President Donald Trump? The signs so far this year suggest there’s little hope for them. Three one-time Trump antagonists go before voters Tuesday. In Kentucky, Rep. Thomas Massie is looking to hold onto his seat after bucking Trump on the Epstein files. In Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan are both running for governor. Duncan is running as a Democrat after refusing to get behind Trump’s attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss. Voters also are casting ballots in Alabama, Idaho, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Democrats hope to flip Republican-held seats once they settle toss-up primaries
SUMMARY: Democrats in Pennsylvania will settle primary fights to shape their congressional slate for the fall, when they hope to capture four swing districts and ultimately a U.S. House majority. Tuesday’s top-of-the-ticket primaries for governor are all but set. But with four GOP-held seats targeted by Democrats in the fall election, Pennsylvania is on the front lines of Democrats’ effort to retake control of the U.S. House and block the last two years of President Donald Trump’s agenda. Three of those seats have contested Democratic primaries. A heavily Democratic district in Philadelphia is a wide-open contest that will almost surely anoint its next seatholder.

Denny Hamlin doing his homework to stay on top of NASCAR heading into Coca-Cola 600
SUMMARY: Denny Hamlin is the oldest driver on the circuit and he will be among the favorites to win the longest race in NASCAR. Tyler Reddick and Chase Elliott are also expected to be strong at Charlotte Motor Speedway but their combined total of 21 Cup starts at the track is dwarfed by Hamlin’s career total of 34. Coming off his second All-Star Race victory, the 45-year-old Hamlin seems primed for his second Coca-Cola 600 win at Charlotte, one of seven 1.5-mile tracks. In the past three races on 1.5-mile speedways, Hamlin has a win, a second and a fourth.

SUMMARY: The Washington Nationals have identified at least one person who will be banned from the ballpark after a banner promoting a white nationalist website was unfurled in the crowd during Sunday’s game. A team spokesperson also said the Nationals are coordinating with District of Columbia police on an investigation. In addition to the website, the banner also included a call to “SAVE AMERICA” and “DEPORT 100+ MILLION” before it was quickly taken down. In a statement, the Nationals say they “vehemently condemn discriminatory and hateful rhetoric.”

SUMMARY: Yandy Díaz had four hits and four RBIs, Junior Caminero homered and drove in four runs, and the Tampa Bay Rays battered Baltimore Orioles pitching in a 16-6 victory. Ryan Vilade and Jonny DeLuca each added three RBIs for the Rays, who had 18 hits and scored their most runs since May 31 last year in a 16-3 win at Houston. Tampa Bay is 13-3 this month and owns the best record in the majors at 31-15. The first five hitters in Tampa Bay’s lineup combined to go 13 for 24 with 15 RBIs. Mets score 10 runs in the 12th, Nationals leave 19 on base in New York's wild 16-7 win
SUMMARY: Carson Benge led the New York Mets to another extra-inning victory, hitting an RBI single and a two-run double during a 10-run 12th inning in a wild 16-7 victory over the Washington Nationals. New York became the first National League team to score 10 runs in an extra inning since the 1919 Cincinnati Reds broke loose for 10 in the 13th inning at Brooklyn. The Nationals made four errors and left 19 runners on base, but kept it close until falling apart in the 12th. Eventually things had gone so horribly awry that Washington moved infielder Jorbit Vivas to the mound and put designated hitter José Tena in the field. A.J. Ewing hit an RBI single and Benge added a two-run double off Vivas.

The Mets' 10-run 12th against Washington was baseball's biggest extra inning since 1983
SUMMARY: After trading leads with the Washington Nationals for 11 innings, the New York Mets scored 10 times in the 12th on their way to a 16-7 victory. It was the most runs by a team in an extra inning since the Texas Rangers scored 12 in the 15th in a 16-4 win over the Oakland Athletics on July 3, 1983. Big Ten on a roll at spring meetings, trying to solve playoff stalemate and other college problems
SUMMARY: Leaders in the Big Ten opened their annual spring meeting with nothing more than the future of their business on the agenda. Giants running back Cam Skattebo says he'll be ready to play by Week 1
SUMMARY: Cam Skattebo has declared he will be ready to play for the New York Giants in their season opener after breaking his right fibula and dislocating his right ankle last fall. Speaking at a team town hall event at the Beacon Theatre on Monday night, the young running back said the mental aspect of missing games and rehabbing has been the hardest aspect of getting injured. Jazz Age style: Chisholm borrows Stanton's baggy pants, Caballero's bat to spark turnaround
SUMMARY: Jazz Chisholm Jr. is making a style statement with baggy pants, and it's paying off for the New York Yankees. Chisholm has been wearing Giancarlo Stanton's trousers and using José Caballero's bat to break out of an early season slump. His tiebreaking, two-run homer led the Yankees to a 7-6 win over Toronto. Chisholm's batting average had sunk to .200, but he's been on a hot streak since switching gear. It's the latest big event for the venue a dozen years since the Super Bowl was played there. The high price tag of getting to and from the stadium has dominated the leadup to the World Cup, with round-trip trains between Manhattan and East Rutherford going for $98 a match and shuttles for $20.
