Maude B. Banks

CAMBRIDGE - Maude B. Banks went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Genesis Healthcare/Chesapeake Woods Center in Cambridge. She was born Feb. 8, 1931, in Meekins Neck, Md., daughter of the late Mary E. and Hansel Meekins. Maude attended the public schools in Dorchester County. She was employed with Coldwater Seafood Corporation until retiring due to illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary; one son, Linwood; a devoted sister, Irene Chester; and one brother, Garfield Meekins. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband of 58 years, Alfred Banks Sr.; one daughter, Eleanor (William), Cambridge; four sons, James of Salisbury, Levin and Thomas of Cambridge, and Alfred Jr. (Danita) of Trappe; a daughter in-law, Geraldine; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services were held on Sat. May 5, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church 623 Pine St. Cambridge. Interment in Old Field Cemetery. Condolences sent to www.henryfuneralhomepa.com.
