Matthew G. Howard
NECK DISTRICT - Matthew G. Howard, 9, of The Neck District, Cambridge, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
Born March 30, 1998, at the Memorial Hospital at Easton, he was the son of Robert C. Howard of the Neck District, and the late Laura Bennett Howard.
Matthew loved music, balloons and bright colors. His favorite television shows were Blues Clues and Jack's Big Music Show. Matthew liked to sit on the beach at Ocean City and listen to the ocean. His favorite stuffed toy was Ringo. Matthew's favorite thing was being in his Daddy's lap.
Surviving besides his father are two brothers, Justin R. Howard, Bryant J. Howard; two uncles, G. Edwin Howard Jr. and his wife, Irene, Keith S. Howard and his wife, Karla, all of the Neck District; several cousins; friends; four godmothers, Miranda LeCompte, Anne Benjamin, Donna Greenleaf, Susan Meredith and caregivers, Terry Brooks and Sandra Bradford.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert C. Bennett and Lorraine Warfield McGlaughlin, and paternal grandparents, G. Edwin Howard Sr. and Caroline Sanders Howard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust St., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends an hour and a half prior to the service. Officiating will be the Rev. Kevin E. English, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Spedden-Seward Cemetery, Hills Point.
Pallbearers will be Justin R. Howard, Bryant J. Howard, George Duquette Benjamin, Elmer Weber, Greg S. Howard, Edward L. Howard Sr. and Bruce W. Owens.
