Mary Virginia Brannock Gould

CENTREVILLE - Mary Virginia Brannock Gould, 85, formerly of Cambridge, died Jan. 27, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Houston, Texas.

She was born in Cambridge on Feb. 11, 1921 the daughter of the late Thomas Emmett Brannock and Lola Hubbard Brannock.

She married Clarendon Lloyd "Doc" Gould on Aug. 24, 1940, at St. Paul"s Parsonage. She worked with her husband for many years at Craig"s Drug Store as a bookkeeper. After retiring, she was a caregiver to her four younger grandchildren. She resided in Cambridge until 1984 when she moved to Centreville.

Mrs. Gould had been a member of Grace United Methodist Church for the past 60 years.

She is survived by her children, Gay G. Marshall and her husband, Paul of Houston, Texas, Jerry E. Gould of Trappe and Janet L. Such of Centreville; a sister-in-law, Dorothy G. Lewis; six grandchildren, Michele D. Marshall, Wende G. Marshall, Meghann B. Gould, Catherine W. Gould, Jillian L. Such and Edward Such III; six nieces and nephews, Denise G. Wheatley, Ann G. Webster, Connie L. Brannock, Thomas S. Brannock, C. Robert Brannock and Robert Brannock.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers, Robert E. Brannock, T. Stuart Brannock and Howard M. Brannock.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m., Saturday at Beckwith United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Don Schell officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery in Beulah.

Arrangements are being handled by the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.
