SALISBURY - Mary Grant McMullen died Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was the daughter of her late Thornton Grant and Mary Thelma Beck Grant of Sunbury, Pa.
She grew up in Snow Hill. She received a scholarship from the Maryland Vassar Club and graduated from Vassar College, as well as the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She held a Master's Degree in Library Science and Information and also received training as a registered nurse at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
Her husband, Hugh Meredith McMullen, died in 1983. She is survived by two sisters, Nancy Grant Lewis of Dover and Anne Grant Hastings of Berlin; a daughter, Kay McMullen Harse of Rescue, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
All services will be private. After cremation, her ashes will be placed with those of her husband in the fields of the farm where they lived in the early years of their marriage. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
