Mary F. Hitchens

SALISBURY - Mary F. Hitchens died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Capron, Va., she was the daughter of the late Emmett W. Cannon, Sr., and Mary Liming Cannon. She was a waitress, working at several local restaurants, her favorite being the Port Of Call. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gene Hitchens; her children, Gene Hitchens, Kevin Hitchens, and Mary J. Hitchens; brother, Bill Cannon; sister, Nancy Bendix; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and a great-grandson. A funeral service was held Monday, May 23, 2016, at Holloway Funeral Home; interment was in Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
