Mary E. Vickers

CAMBRIDGE - Mary E. Vickers passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at UMSMC at Dorchester. She was born in Chestertown on July 13, 1934 and was a daughter of the late George Batchelor and Louise Elliott Batchelor.
Mrs. Vickers was raised in a children's home in Talbot County, and where she also attended school in Easton. On June 28, 1952, she married Robert Vickers, who passed away on Sept. 13, 2017. She worked at Rob Roy for 30 years and also at Mallard Bay Care Center for a little while. Mrs. Vickers enjoyed shopping, going out to restaurants, playing bingo, going to the VFW with her husband and was an avid reader. She also attended St. John's Chapel in Cornersville.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Trego and husband Michael of Cambridge; and granddaughter, Michelle Trego of Pocomoke. Besides her parents, Mrs. Vickers was preceded in death by a sister, Emily Bakeoven Stubbs; and a brother, Henry Batchelor.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018 at 1 pm at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge. Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiated. Interment followed at Spedden Seward Cemetery. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
