SALISBURY - Mary Belle Townsend-Meyer died Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Walton and Maude Phillips. She attended schools in Salisbury and spent most of her life as a homemaker, caring for her family. She was a member of Faith Community Church. She is survived by five children, William Joseph Townsend Jr. of Fruitland, Mary Frances Adams of Salisbury, Cheryl Townsend of Salisbury, Barbara Griffin of Princess Anne, James M. Townsend of Salisbury and a special son, James Finlay of Salisbury; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and her husband, Clarence Edward Meyer of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Joseph Townsend Sr.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Morris and Kathryn Barry; and five sisters, Louise Mach, Edna Mae Bratten, Virginia Ennis, June Lawler and Barbara Lattimore. A funeral service was held Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
