CAMBRIDGE - Mary Ann Creighton, 81, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

She was born in Cambridge on Sept. 30, 1925 and was a daughter of the late Victor and Lillian Dunn Travers.

She attended schools in Cambridge, having graduated from the Cambridge Seminary. On Feb. 14, 1944 she was married to Shirley "Spunk" Creighton. Mr. Creighton passed away on Aug. 22, 2004.

Mrs. Creighton had worked for a number of years at American Yearbook and later worked as a hostess at Mario"s in Ocean City. She enjoyed doing ceramics as well as reading.

Mrs. Creighton was a Life Member of Choptank Memorial Post 7460 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She had been in failing health for several years and been at Hospice at the Lake since June 21.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann Creighton of Salisbury and Mary Ellen Slacum and her husband, William E. Slacum of Cambridge; one son, James M. Creighton and his wife, Susan H. Creighton of Cambridge; five grandchildren, Heather Lawhead and her husband, Kelly Lawhead, Samuel P. Slacum and his wife, Melissa Wise Slacum, Rachel E. Blackwell and her husband, Lt. Rob Blackwell, Sarah J. Creighton and Jake T. Creighton; three great-grandchildren, Micah M. Slacum, Samuel P. Slacum Jr. and Sophia P. Lawhead and also a caregiver Dawn Norman.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a half sister, Mildred Travers.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at the Maryland Veterans" Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Coastal Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are being handled by the Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
