CAMBRIDGE - Martha Waldron Weiler, age 83, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2011, under the care of Hospice. Marti graduated with a degree in teaching from the University of Maryland in 1950. In 1983, she retired after 30 years of teaching in Fairfax County as a school teacher at Bailey's Elementary School in Falls Church, Va. Soon after her retirement, she opened Oakley House B&B in Cambridge. Her wanderlust had taken her from Kensington, to Falls Church, Va., to Virginia Beach, Va., to Winchester, Va., to Front Royal, Va., with three stops in Cambridge. She was active in the Cambridge community and was one of the founding members of the West End Citizen's Association. Marti is survived by her daughter, Sue Henley of Bowie; brothers, Ted Waldron of Gaithersburg, and Dick Waldron of Port Angeles, Wash.; granddaughter, Lisa Lyles of Richmond, Va.; grandsons, Robert, William, and John Weiler of Williamsburg, Va. She currently has three great-grandchildren with another on the way. Please send donations to the Hospice of the Chesapeake at www.hospicechesapeake.org in memory of Marti Weiler. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in Cambridge, with details to be published on her memorial Web site at www.eforever.com/marti.
