SALISBURY - Marietta Louise Taylor Hopkins died Friday, Mar. 31, 2017, at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Everett Sidney Taylor and Louise Strong Taylor. She was employed for several years by Rayner Brothers Inc. as a secretary and was a longtime member of Jerusalem Methodist Church in Parsonsburg, as well as Rockawalkin Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Handel Hopkins, Sr., in 1988; four sisters, Julie Jones, Annabelle Mongeon, Josephine Taylor and Cornelia Pruitt. She is survived by a son, John H. Hopkins, Jr., of Salisbury; two daughters, Diane H. Jefferson, of Inman, S.C., and Henrietta H. Seese, of Mount Joy, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held Friday, Apr. 7, 2017, at Bounds Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed in Wicomico Memorial Park.
