SALISBURY - Margaret Ellen Biller Utterback died at her Salisbury residence on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017. Born in Bolivar, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Lily Elizabeth Tharpe Biller. She worked for many years as a clerk in "Mrs. Hazard's Store" in Branchville, Md., and later as a cashier at the Maryland Book Exchange just off the University of Maryland College Park campus, until her retirement. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Garrett of Middletown, Del.; her son, Charles Utterback of Goldsboro, N.C.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thurston Utterback; her son, Howard T. Utterback Jr.; and eight brothers and sisters. Following her wishes, cremation will take place and she will be interred next to her husband in the Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, Va., on Nov. 11, 2017 at noon. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
