CAMBRIDGE - Margaret Ann Blazek, 72, a lifelong resident of Cambridge, died Thursday morning, Aug. 30, 2007, at her home.

Born April 28, 1935, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late James W. Blazek and the late Audrey Shorter Blazek.

Ms. Blazek was a graduate of Cambridge High School, Class of 1953. She was also a graduate of Salisbury State Teachers College, graduating in the Class of 1957 and where she completed her master"s in 1969.

For more than 30 years Ms. Blazek was an educator for the Dorchester County Public Schools where she taught at Peachblossom Elementary, Mace"s Lane and Library, Sandy Hill Elementary School and Warwick Elementary School.

Ms. Blazek was a communicant of St. Mary, Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church, Cambridge.

She was a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed traveling, watching old movies, fishing and going to Ocean City.

Surviving is her companion of over 50 years, Calvin Pritchett of Crapo; two sisters, Rose Marie "Mitzi" Walsh and her husband, Matthew of Church Hill, Geraldine J. "Jerri" Chatlin and her husband, Irv of Chapel, Hill, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Rose Marie Mahoney and her husband, James, Susan Walsh, Matthew Walsh Jr., Martha Ann Hardy and her husband, Thomas, Mary Jane Walsh-Felty and her husband, Garland; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kelly Mahoney, Brina Mahoney, James Mahoney, Sophia Felty, Nicholas Felty and Thomas Hardy; cousins, Richard Messick and his wife, Carol, of Cambridge, Ricki Bradshaw and her husband, Phil, Mary Ann Marcus and her husband, Glen.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 at the Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, Cambridge. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church on Saturday, at 11 a.m. Celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. William Lawler, assisted by the Rev. Bruce Byrolly. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Richard D. Messick, James Joseph Mahoney, James Joseph Mahoney Jr., Matthew William Walsh Jr., Nicholas Ryan Felty, Thomas Hardy, Garland Felty and Thomas Matthew Hardy.

Memorial offerings may be made to either The Little Sisters of the Poor, Development Office, 4200 Harewood Road NE, Washington, D.C. 20017, or to St. Mary, Refuge of Sinners Catholic Church, P.O. Box 218, Cambridge, MD 21613.
