An 18-year-old Mardela Springs man was killed Saturday when a car he was driving ran off Riverton Road, Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputies said.
Nicholas James Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, deputies said. Three passengers in the vehicle were also injured in the collision.
The accident occurred just after 11:30 p.m., deputies said. All three passengers were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, with two people still being treated Sunday with serious injuries.
The car ran off the road and rolled over. Deputies said their initial investigation shows none of the passengers was wearing a seat belt and passengers were ejected.
The Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident. Deputies said speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
