A 63-year-old Salisbury man was charged with attempted first-degree murder and related charges after a 23-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks on Main Street in Salisbury, according to Salisbury police.
Robert Hawkins Johnson Jr. of Penn Street was also charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault-second degree, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person after the May 28 incident, police said.
Police were called to the 100 block of West Main Street in reference to an assault with a firearm at 3:26 a.m.
Police said the victim was Sharrelle Cole. She was shot while walking on Main Street and was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where she was in stable condition.
On May 29, Johnson was arrested by the Maryland State Apprehension Team after Johnson was seen in a wooded area on Jersey Road.
Johnson was being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
