PITTSVILLE - Mabel Frances Twigg, 81, of Pittsville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury. Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Thomas Ward and Emma Marie Adams Ward. Mabel was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church in Salisbury. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her grandchildren and they all were "her favorites". She loved spending time with her family and reading her Bible daily. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Benjamin L. Twigg, Sr.; three sons, Benjamin L. Twigg, Jr. and his wife, Sherre of Iberia, Mo., Bryan Ward Twigg and his wife, Susan of Salisbury and Bruce Wayne Twigg of Hebron; six grandchildren, Lisa Bergstrom, Jennifer Twigg, Kevin Twigg, all of Missouri, Bryan Twigg, Jr. and Carl Twigg of Salisbury and Hailee Twigg of Hebron; a sister, Nell Bennett of Mardela Springs; a brother, John Ward, Jr. of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews including Margaret Weber of Parsonsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wilson and Stella Ward; and four brothers, Gordon Ward, Billy Gene Ward, Clyde Ward and Irvin Ward. A funeral service was 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Rev. Carol Carlson officiated. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd. Salisbury, MD 21804.
