CRISFIELD - M. Linda McCarty of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her home. Born in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Vernon E. and Gertrude Lilly Sterling Nelson. Linda worked for many years at Linton's Seafood and the former Windsor's Seafood. She was a member of the Crisfield Church of God, the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Auxiliary, and the former VFW Post #8274 Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Marie Stone and her husband Richard of Ocean City and Lana Starr McCready of Crisfield; her grandchildren whom she adored, Howie Harris and MacKenzie McCready of Crisfield; her brother, Eugene Douglas Nelson and his wife Toni of Wisconsin; her nieces and nephews, Theodore "Ted" Nelson and his wife Jen of PA, Lonnie James Nelson of Baltimore, and Michael Nelson and his wife Amanda of Baltimore; a special sister, Mary Ellen English and family of Salisbury; Juanita Nelson and her husband Greg, and son CJ, of Crisfield; the Bradshaw Family of Crisfield; and several other nieces, nephews and special relatives. A memorial service was held Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Church of God. Rev. Harvey Tyler officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to be sent to Tawes Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway, Crisfield, MD 21817; or Coastal Hospice, P.O.
