CAMBRIDGE - Louis C. Prahl, 63, died Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.
Born April 1, 1943 in Easton, he was the son of the late George A. and Margaret L. Carey Prahl.
Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, in which he served from 1966-69, he began a career in plumbing and pipefitting. His last employment was with Hess Mechanical in Upper Marlboro, retiring in 2005.
His wife, the former Carol Malkus, whom he married July 1, 1995, died June 25, 2004.
Mr. Prahl was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7460, American Legion Post 91 and Moose Lodge 1211, all in Cambridge.
Mr. Prahl is survived by his daughter, Monica J. King of Cambridge; five brothers, Carl A. "Fuzzy" Prahl of Crapo, John A. "Buddy" Prahl and William H, Prahl, both of Cambridge, Wilmer L. Prahl of Buford, S.C., and Richard K. Prahl of Cambridge; a sister, Doris L. Moran of North East; three grandchildren, Brittany, Kathy and Art; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Easton, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford.
Donations in his memory may be made to a favorite charity.
